If you have an actual PC, you can use that to enter the username/password, then go into your xbox settings and clone your pc's name and mac address. Of course this would prevent the PC and xbox from being online at the same time, if that matters to you. This is the correct answer.

Connecting to wifi on a school (college) network not possible? I'm trying to get on the eShop on my local community college campus and no matter where I go, even if the wifi signal is reall good on a laptop, my 3DS is not recognizing the network or connecting.
Unfortunately, upon startup, my TV keeps connecting to my router by default instead of the WiFi extender and having to change networks (and re-enter the password) each time is a pain.
